A journey under water and a trip to the clouds!
Greetings good people!
It's been a while since there was some tidings from the land of TCOFR, but now we can finally share some news with you all. Two more songs have been recorded and they complete the collection which will be in the three record boxed set.
"Orias & the Water City" was recorded in the dark Norwegian midwinter and is quite dreamy and atmospheric. It takes you along for a ride under the surface of the ocean of Ayrouhr and down to the giant sea trees and the city of Oriasaleah. It is a journey back to the roots, if I may say so.
"The Cloudship" has been in the making for several years, but fell into place when the snow melted and spring arrived this year. The song tells the tale of a cloudship that soars high among the clouds gathering the embers of the dying sun, before it starts the long nightly travel to the dawn where the sun is rekindled. "The Cloudship" was featured on the limited Italian sampler "Djerv Dvergbjerk i Djup Dvales Dvelen - a rare collection of unreleased tracks from obscure Nordic Prog Archives", which was released in Italy in March '18.
Since the end of May '18 we have also been working closely with the very talented songbird Aleksandra Morozova, laying down some beautiful backing vocals to several of the songs. She is a truly gifted and creative folk singer from Russia, and her contributions has really added some final magick to the songs! It's strange how things fall into place, 24 years after the conception of a concept. But even though the story of Father Robin always has been one who writes itself under way, we are now steadfast sailing towards a final haven.
All the songs will be mixed this autumn, and we will soon post an update about the details concerning pre-orders and the different editions of the boxed set.
